{Styled Shoot} Summer Picnic

Friday, June 6, 2014

A while back I decided to try my hand at a little styled photo shoot and expand on one of our invitation suites from our 2014 Bridal Collection. In the spirit of the summer season, I wanted to do something that embraced a picnic theme and the Quinn Invitation Suite fit the bill. The entire shoot was styled using neutral colors and outdoor elements, sprinkled with pops of red. I hope you enjoy!

The Quinn stationery set and Save the Date incorporate the vintage feel while complementing the outdoor theme. I personally love the accent of the red envelope. It gives the neutral set just enough color to make it stand out from the crowd.

In continuing with the picnic theme, these customized paper straws and tags are a great complement to any beverage, such as a refreshing Coca-Cola Classic. They add a little fun and personalization to your big day!

The favor bags were inspired by the traditional sack lunch. These bags are designed to be very versatile and can be used for a candy bar, a monogrammed cookie or any other sweet treat. Each bag is accented with a "Love is Sweet" label and lovingly sealed with a red bow.

For the main course, boxed meals are what's on the menu. Each kraft style box was adorned with red and cream lace ribbon and accented with a menu and red polka dot napkin. Each box was labeled using the appropriate menu so guests could easily tell the contents of each box.

The escort cards and seating chart were inspired by the initial invitation design, using the beveled edging and gray palette.  And in keeping with the red theme, they were accented with some red and white striped baker's twine. The cards were situated on a large barn siding frame that had been backed with chicken wire and were hung using mini clothes pins.

Other elements from the shoot consisted of a small naked cake adorned with mixed berries, lovingly made by my go-to-gal, Jen. Signature fruit punch drinks with lace and twine accents, along with Coca-Cola were the drinks of choice. Small mason jars filled with red hydrangeas, along with cream colored doilies were also used throughout the set.

While this shoot was based around a wedding invitation suite, you could embody this theme for any type of occasion. It would make a perfect shower or even holiday cookout theme.

I hope you enjoyed the shoot! It was so much fun to style, and I got to test out my photography skills. This is one of many more shoots to come, I am sure!
